  1. United Nations’ World Drowning Prevention Day is annually observed across the globe on 25 July to highlight the impacts of death by drowning on families and communities and to provide solutions to prevent death by drowning. The theme of World Drowning Prevention Day 2023 is “Anyone can drown, no one should”.
  2. World InVitro Fertilization Day is annually observed across the globe on 25 July to commemorate the achievements and progress made in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology.This day marks the birth date of world’s first ‘Test-tube baby’, Louise Brown, the first baby conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF).
  3. National Parents’ Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of July each year to acknowledge and appreciate parents for their selflessness. This year, it was observed on 23 July.
  4. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been appointed as the brand ambassador of ICC World Cup 2023.
  5. Gujarat will host the 69th edition of Filmfare Awards in 2024, and a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between state government’s tourism cooperation and Worldwide Media (WWM) to host the event and promote the state as a film destination.

In a significant move, India and Japan have solidified their partnership by signing an agreement to jointly develop the semiconductor ecosystem which aims to bolster the resilience of the global supply chain, particularly in the crucial semiconductor industry. This marks Japan as the second partner in the Quad alliance, after the United States, to join hands with India in this endeavor.

  12. The Supreme Court has issued new guidelines for designating senior advocates, replacing the existing 2017 guidelines. Under the new regulations, lawyers with a minimum of 10 years of standing and aged 45 years or above are eligible to apply for the ‘senior advocate’ designation.

  16. The leaders of 26 Opposition political parties from across India have united to create the INDIA coalition, which stands for the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
